Moone
Celtic FC was founded in 1989 and established its home grounds at
Simonstown, Moone. We joined the Carlow & District League under
the management team of Tom Hickey and Joe
Keating. From this the club grew year after year and soon found its
first team competing against the top teams in the league. Through the
years many different players have come and gone but time after time we
see the players of past teams coming back to get involved and support
each team now established in the club. Our grounds are now at Belan
Avenue and you can find directions on the tab above. As of August 2008
the club now play's all it football in the "Kildare Leagues" for both
seniors and underage teams. This has been a positive move for the club
and has sparked huge interest from local groups and businesses
providing support as we progress.
Over the past five years a structured underage system has been set up through the hard work of Anthony Hegarty and this tremendous foresight has now seen our now under 15 team win their league title at under 14 Premier level. These are soon to be enterning the senior radar as some show promise to bring huge value to an already promising senior team through the guidance of manager Martin Timmons. Our underage teams range from Under 9's, 10's, 12's, 14's & 15's. If you are interested in joining this progressive club please contact and of the club contacts above.
