New Pitch now a Reality

If you are driving up the old N9 Moone/Timolin bypass keep an eye out for the clubs new home "Fortfield Park" on the left hand side heading to Dublin. After sod conditioning over the past two months we are reaching the final stage of preperation which leads us into the beginning of the 2010/11 winter season in the KDUL. Ball-stop nets, training lights, dressing rooms, pitch marking, goalpost erection and gates to be installed are just a few of the things going to happen over the next three weeks, so if you would like to lend a hand don't be afraid to contact us and we'll be delighted to put you to work.

Irelands 1st Kilomarathon in Moone

Well done to all the senior squad who took part in the race recently and collected much needed funbs for the club. A special congradulations to Sean Kane who came home first from the club with a personal best on the day. Also, a "well done" to Aaron McMahon who crossed the line hand in hand with the current "Rose of Tralee". Judging by his face crossing the line he enjoyed the race right till the end!! - Photo's to follow!!

Golf Classic 2010

Yet another great day for the club as this years classic held at Kilkea Castle Golf Club on Friday the 30th of July was well supported by local business and supporters who came to play on the day from far and wide. The winners of the first prize of a weekend break for four (with free golf all weekend) to the "Skellig Bay Golf Resort" in Kerry were David Browne, Bernard Higgins, John Hickey and Pat Deegan all representing "Molly o' Looneys Pub Narraghmore" well done from all in the club.

Awards Night Friday July 16th 2010

Another positive year for Moone Celtic FC both on and off the field as over 140 club members gathered in St. Laurences Complex to celebrate all the achievements over the past 12 months. Ex Celtic Ledgend "Paul Byrne" was there to present all the awards and give valuable advice to players, managers and parents on the experiences he witnessed throughout his career as a professional footballer at the highest level. Paul, who now coaches through a company called "Premier Skills" is now putting valuable knowledge back into the game and helping to change the mentality surrounding the game and try to bring enjoyment and fun into coaching. We look forward to having all our coaches and managers gain some of his insight through the coming months to improve the experience our players get at the club.

Work Commencing on New Grounds this coming week

The long wait is over. The clubs five year plan created in 2008 is hitting every target along the way and this target is probably the most significant to date. Thanks to Ronan and Claire Kelly, Moone Celtic will now be in the position to provide soccer to an unlimited number of members for the coming years as a whopping five acre site off the old N7 Moone/Timolin bypass is soon to be the clubs new home. Work will start with the erection of the perimeter fencing and then the parking area will be installed. Over the next 6 to 8 weeks ongoing work will be done to upgrade an existing sod that is in excellent condition into the very best for our players to play on. The 2010/11 underage season will kick off in the new grounds in September. Lets hope the new grounds bring as many great memories as Belan Avenue has done throughout the years.

 Friday 2nd July 2010

  Monday 16th November

Hard luck to the senior team who were narrowly defeated in a penalty shootout yesterday in the Division 3/4 Sheild Final against Galhoy. An unlucky day for the team but plently of respect for a team that have improved hugely in the last four months and who will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with in next seasons campaign.
