| Allenwood got off to a flyer as three minutes in they got the rub of the green when the off side trap was beaten to make it 1-0 to the visitors. Moone were shellshocked but began to pass the ball about well only to be caught off guard again after fifteen minutes as Allenwoods second shot on goal hit the back of the net. After that Moone held most of the possession and worked extremely hard to break through a dogged Allenwood defence. Eventually Moones hard work paid off as John Lazenby fired home a left footed shot to bring the score to 2-1 and everything to play for in the second half. The home side were rarely troubled at the back during the second half but were found wanting up front as attack after attack never produced the equaliser that they were looking for. 2-1 in the end to Allenwood as Moone will have to produce the killer instinct up front if they have any thoughts of promotion this season. Best for Moone were goal scorer John Lazenby, Mick Clowery, Kevin Anthony and Neil O'Shaughnessy. |
