| After two games at the helm Moone's manager Mick Barrett has seen exactly what needs to change in this Moone side as Newtown showed exactly why they will be in contention for promotion this year from Division 2. The opener for Newtown came on 30 minutes as a corner taken sailed all the way to the back of the net leaving a few red faces in the Moone defence. Their second came on 40 as Richie Browne in the Moone goal failed to hold on to a shot and the quickest to react was a Newtown forward. Just before the halftime whistle Newtown grabbed their third when Moone's defence allowed a long ball through and Newtown didn't make a mistake to take advantage. After some must needed changes at half time Moone came out a different side and pulled one back when Kevin Anthony crossed to John Lazenby who shot low to the corner of the net on 50 minutes. Newtowns defence were strong throughout the second half though, as several attacks by Moone were dealt with time and time again. The killer blow came on 75 minutes when another defensive error allowed Newtown in to finish the scoring and leave the score 4-1 in favour to the visitors. Best for Moone were Mikey Wall, Niall Hickey, John Lazenby and Anthony Hegarty. |
